Our Core Values

Welcoming

All people are welcome to worship at Covenant.  When people come to visit they are made to feel comfortable and at home. We seek to maintain a welcoming spirit not just by our  friendliness but also by keeping up the physical surroundings of our church building and grounds.

Authentic

At Covenant we are comfortable in who we are as unique individuals. Our objective is not to impress one another as much as it is to be real with one another. God has created us all different and we are all at different places in our ongoing Christian journey.

Christ-Centered

At Covenant it’s all about Jesus and we desire that all would become a follower of Him. We aspire to the example He gave us in the gospels to be full of truth and grace, loving all, forgiving others, and standing firm against the sin that plagues our world.

Generous Giving

To be generous givers we follow the “3P” model of priority, percentage, and progressive giving. As we seek to live a more biblical lifestyle the margin between our income and expenses increases and allows our generous giving to grow.

Missions Minded

At Covenant we want to see the gospel of Jesus Christ spread throughout the Cape, Massachusetts, our country, and to the ends of the earth. There are those who are called to go and serve in missions and it’s our privilege to support those people locally and globally with our finances and prayer.

Bible Based

We believe it is vitally important to have a biblical worldview on all things in life. We affirm 2nd Timothy 3:16-17 which states – All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Dedicated Discipleship

We should never stop growing on our Christian journey and that growth can not take place without spiritual disciplines. We encourage faithful daily time in prayer and reading the bible. We also encourage our regular home group and bible study gatherings so we can learn and grow together.

Sincere Service

Without ministering to others in organized forms as a church and individually on our own our faith becomes stale. We seek to follow Christ’s example in caring for one another and for our world in need.

Persistent Prayer

James 5:16 states – The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. We believe prayer makes a difference. Prayer is emphasized in all of our gatherings as a church. We pray not to get what we want but to seek God’s will and direction for our lives, and God answers those prayers.

Outwardly Occupied

Our church is just as much about those who are not here yet as it is about us. We take seriously the great commission to go and make disciples. We will reach out to our friends, neighbors, and co-workers sharing the love of Jesus Christ and we will invite them to our church and to be a part of our Christian faith.
